Field Office™ 2010 Software

Weatherford recognizes that today’s production community faces multiple, complex challenges for different types of wells and reservoirs that require diverse methods of optimization. Therefore, we offer the Field Office 2010 suite of specialized production optimization and engineering software tools. These tools help operators and engineers achieve real-time results for operational efficiencies, namely increased production, decreased lifting costs, and minimized downtime. The package includes industry-leading applications that provide optimization for all forms of artificial lift, well design, reservoir monitoring, well testing, and workflow management. It is a full-field package for surface to subsurface modeling, analysis, and optimization.

What is new for the suite in 2010?

Field Office 2010 software enhancements include integrated solutions for artificial lift such as an autonomous digital engineer for gas-lifted wells, real-time gas lift analysis, gas well deliquification real-time analysis, full-field optimization of fields with both gas lift and electric submersible pumping (ESP) wells, analysis for progressing cavity pumping (PCP) wells, managing pump workshop and surface pumping unit maintenance work flows, and more accurate downhole pump calculations for rod-pump wells.

Data access is enhanced through increased integration with drilling data stores and other vendors’ applications, the ability to capture drilling activities, a standards-based communicator for connecting to most field devices, and a mobile rig event capture module.

Flow assurance prediction capability is available for individual wells or an entire field. A production-engineering knowledgebase for increased efficiency and knowledge transfer are included. It automatically performs quick well test analysis at wellsite when well is temporarily shutdown. Additionally, a newly designed user interface enhances the ease of use for many of the applications.

Linking existing systems with new technology

The suite provides integration between real-time data and rigorous engineering algorithms for proactive problem detection and resolution management. Simply stated, operation’s and engineering’s ultimate goal is the same–greater production while controlling costs. Shrinking resources demand that these goals be achieved in the shortest possible time frame using the most efficient work flows. The integration through data and application sharing creates an efficient way of reaching that goal. Field Office software components include the specific tasks to reach that goal from both the operations and the engineering perspectives.

The open system interacts with applications such as reservoir simulation, production allocation, and data historians. It coexists or replaces with nodal analysis, well test analysis, supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA), production surveillance, and pressure transient applications. Its unique solutions such as lift optimization, full-field optimization, and real-time operations share data and information with the other applications.

Weatherford has a firm commitment to providing connectivity to your current investments. The Field Office 2010 suite helps the organization standardize work flows by communally tracking tasks with a common interface. Enabling worldwide access to data, the software provides unifying tools across multiple domains, and shared interfaces reduce new technology adoption time. The standard platform can be used across multiple asset types, and there is a seamless integration between the tools and existing systems resulting in lower total cost of ownership (TCO).

The application uses open standards to assure that existing hardware and software tools can be incorporated into a comprehensive production optimization solution. The suite incorporates various mechanisms such as web services/production markup language (ProdML) for data integration, object-linking and embedding (OLE) for process controls (OPC) to access real-time systems, and it has the ability to connect to reservoir modeling tools and other engineering applications directly.
