Objective:

Stated quite simply, the objective of this course is to provide the most advanced and comprehensive gas-lift design and diagnostics training package available to the industry. The course provides a comprehensive review of common gas-lift techniques, concentrates on the entire system effect of gas-lift performance and diagnostics particularly the downhole aspects. It also emphasizes emerging technology in the form of actual gas-lift valve performance and dynamic gas-lift simulation, which advance the practice of gas lift from a black art to a true engineering discipline. The course is targeted toward engineering staff involved in the design, performance, and monitoring of gas-lift installations. While previous experience and/or knowledge of gas lift are prerequisites, students are expected to be familiar with the basic principles as well as applications of gas lift. The course will also prove valuable to experienced gas-lift engineers who would benefit from exposure to some of the newer methods currently being developed and tested by the industry.

Course Description:

This course presents an advanced interactive approach on the design and application of gas lift to professional s involved in oil and gas production. The course demonstrates the advantages and limitations of specific gas-lift equipment and will improve design skills using gas-lift software for continuous (single and dual completions), intermittent lift, and Xtra-Lift applications. The student will utilize system evaluation, design, installation, operation, troubleshooting procedures, gas-lift allocation/optimization procedures and real time surveillance and optimization workflows.

Target audience

The course is targeted toward engineering staff involved in the design, performance, and monitoring of gas-lift installations.
